For models with swing axle transmission, the gearbox oil passes through the rear axle to lubricate the bearings, the oil is stopped at the rear brake backing plates by seals, bushings and an oil seal. In the event of a leak, the gearbox oil penetrates the brake drums, reducing or even eliminating the braking effect. Check the seal regularly and immediately replace the seal, O-rings and retaining ring if necessary.
